It is Friday evening around 9, a 13-hour bus ride is expecting us. We are about to leave Bangkok behind to enjoy clear water, beaches, and beautiful scenery. Krabi is a region in the South of Thailand located on the west coast. The region is mostly known for its scenic beaches and rocky coastline and is a hotspot for tourists, climbers, and divers.
Waking up after a night with almost no sleep on the bus, the sun and a forestal rocky landscape revealed itself to us. What a difference to the crowded and dusty streets of Bangkok!
We stayed in Ao Nang, a quite touristy city just outside of Krabi Town. It appeared to be a very good location for day trips since both the hills and the sea are close by. We mainly wanted to enjoy the coast and the sun. Which was why we decided to take a boat trip to see different islands in the surroundings. We were not disappointed by what we experienced on that trip.
During the day trip, we were able to snorkel in the sea, close to the coral reefs of an island. I would really recommend going onto a snorkeling tour and observe the many different and colorful fish that swim in the Andaman Sea. Krabi really is a destination that should be on your bucket list!
